Futurism sculptures

Whilst looking into futurism shapes and sculptures I came across an artist called Aaron Moran who creates 'puzzling sculptures' from scrap shapes of wood, very triangular and geometric, below is an example of his work.

I really enjoy the geometric forms thrown together to create a whole new 3d shape, I also really love the fact that in a lot of Futurism paintings the sides of the triangles are shaded and jagged, I had a few sketches on experimenting with shapes and colour. Shown below.

Another piece of work that inspired me with its shape and shading was 'The woman on the guitar' by Picasso. I then realised I also really like Cubism work which I was never really a fan of, but when standing back and appreciating the form of the work rather than the metaphor behind it, it really changes my opinion on art.

My next stages from now are to focus on making small models using these shapes and colours as a guideline for my work, I am going to look at Aaron Moran and Picasso more for inspiration on fitting shapes together and also Eva Hesse and her amazing sculptures.
