Milhazes work popped with vibrant colours on my screen after viewing a show by her and Tomma Abts on the internet.

Although a lot more ornamental and decorative than my own work; her piece below which is Untitled has vastly inspired me to work on a much larger scale and not to be scared of what the outcome will be with the reaction of colour, her work is very happy and emotive through its large scale wholesome circles and vivid blocks of colour.

She too was inspired by Mondrian and Malevich, which is apparent through the simple shapes and different colours.

The lines in the top left remind me of optical illusions, Bridget Riley and Op-art which Is something I am still interested in from first year, the whole piece opens up so many new opportunities in my mind for trying out new things, using collage like I did when I looked at Imi Knoebel and for using new colours which I am not accustom to using such as Orange and pink.

I love the composition, it is simple in the fact that there Is one focal point but I really appreciate the fact that there are little shapes all over; theres always something new to look at and theres always a new colour to see.
