I got out a book from the library called 'Colour: A workshop for artists and designers', It gives a lot of information on colour wheels, hues, colour interaction and colour unity.

SO this week I have focused on mixing colours, finding out about shade and tints and what colours go well together.

At the same time I wanted to keep the idea of geometric colours and background lines and tried to incorporate that into some pieces for example the black triangles on the coloured background below and the black geometric cubist flowers on the coloured background.

I went on to mixing colour with a palette knife using acrylic on boards and pieces of paper which I found very therapeutic and I was really pleased with the outcome, I love how different it is to the very precise work I have been doing, I felt very free.
