After using the electricians tape to create more geometric patterns with the use of realistic still life drawings I decided to try and make a geometric pattern which abstractly showed flowers or the outlines of flowers and came up with the image below.

I then realised Id like to look into geometric flowers and Cubism so I got a few books out and started looking at e.g Picasso- 'Womans head' and Kandinsky, I really enjoyed looking at Futurism and how simple shapes could come together and create an image.

I also really like the contrast of the realism with the lines and shape of geometry so I started sketching flowers with small details of lines in the background and shapes floating around.

I think next week I will look at colour after discussing with my tutor that I need to explore my colour palette before starting paintings and basically to try and get out of the De Stijil concept that is still very present in my head.
