Purple for days

After starting my large wall piece I have carried on. It was suggested that instead of acrylics I use pastels, either chalk or oil which is actually a nice break for me from using paint, I couldn't decide which would look best and unlike the last project I wanted to plan which material i was using before i actually started on the large piece so I tried out both types of pastel in my sketch book, as shown below.

In the end i decided that chalk pastels were easier to blend and would look better on a large scale than oil pastels and would look more realistic which would contrast more with the geometric shapes and lines.

I am finding this particular piece again, very therapeutic to do and I love having a lot of freedom with the colours and i am enjoying blending the colours together and creates new shades and tints.
