I was the first one to present in the first group tutorial of the year, I decided to show some initial drawings, my small paper cut out collages and my large blue canvas as shown previously.
I spoke about how I wanted to look more into suprematism and that my work has became a lot more expressive lately because of the restrictions of the De Stijil movement I became obsessed with last year.
Some students advised maybe I could make some of the shapes on my canvas into faces; many people could see various animals or scenery for example an underwater scene because of the small white circles resembling bubbles.
Some artists given by the tutors who ran the tutorial (James and Mike) were Tomma Abts- an abstract oil painter and Robert Breer-an artist who combines abstract and representational painting. I will be looking a lot more into both of these artists, particularly Breer.
It was also suggested through my interest in 80's abstract art that I could look into making some animation which would work really well with my flowing shapes, and particularly since I enjoyed working with video last year which is a very new material for me.
